“Your mark, your name, on the record of the World.”
As I approach my eighteenth birthday, I’ve run into an interesting question, amongst many: should I keep my old name?
While it has been my symbol for the past eleven years, I would be lying if I said that I particularly liked it, made all the more ridiculous by the fact that I chose it in the first place. I get the feeling that the “MC” would stick forever (and “T.L.C.” always amuses me for some reason) but the entity behind those letters might be different from when they were originally thought of.
Simple is best, but not if it is widely used. Something with meaning, roots, history, something more unique.
I wonder what I will think of this, years from now, carrying a new name but referred to by my old handle.
